I’m excited that this year I am once again able to attend the 99% Conference put on by the fine folks at Behance and Cool Hunting. The premise of the conference is based on the famous quote by Thomas Edison, “Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.” The conference focuses on the fact that having a great idea is not enough, you need to actually make those good ideas happen; you need to take action.  This year’s speakers include innovator extraordinaire,  Yves Béhar, Beth Comstock (SVP & Chief Marketing Officer of GE), Jared Cohen (Google Ideas), Diego Rodriguez (IDEO), and a number of other inspiring people.  The conference is sold out but don’t let that stop you from spending some time on the 99% site.

I admit it; I’m a bit of a conference junkie.  Spending the day around creative minds who are interested in making this world a better place to be whether it is through design, collaboration or social change is just downright inspiring.  The Feast Conference is no exception.  This year’s conference brings together leading entrepreneurs, revolutionaries and doers and creates a cross-disciplinary series of programs that address social innovation and new ways to make the world a more interesting and creative place focusing on this year’s theme of “re-inventing industries.”
